Nicholas Talley
Nicholas Talley is a prominent Australian gastroenterologist and clinical educator. He is best known for authoring the textbook "Clinical examination (With Dr Simon O'Connor), a widely used textbook of physical examination, and the textbook "Internal Medicine: The Essential Facts”. He is also the author of a textbook of gastroenterology, now in its third edition. The idea for writing the influential text on physical examination came in the aftermath of his own professional examinations, when he noted many of the then available textbooks on the subject omitted useful clinical examination techniques.
==Early life==
Talley grew up in Sydney, a first-generation Australian and son of a Hungarian gastroenterologist, also Nicholas Talley OAM FRACP. He studied medicine at the University of New South Wales, graduating in 1979 with first-class honours.
